For more than 30 years, we've served a menu as diverse as Miami itself.
It started as a single upscale sub shop in Key West in 1988, aptly named Mr. Submarine. Shortly thereafter, the brand took its success and headed north into Miami, where it expanded both its menu and its footprint as it evolved into Miami Subs.
The budding brand's unique Miami inspired design and delicious made-to-order meals captured the market's attention and never looked back. It garnered a cult-like following through the late 1990s that grew the brand into nearly 200 units.
A Shift in Strategy
Through the early 2000s, an acquisition by Nathan's Famous saw the sell-off of many Miami Subs properties, due in large part to high-value unit locations in a booming real estate market. Marketing for the brand slowed significantly.
Nathan's sold the brand to newly forms investor group Miami Subs Capital Partners in 2007, which took over day-to-day management in 2010.
Though market share was smaller, customer loyalty was evident. Recognizing the brand equity, Capital Partners understood they needed a fresh vision to elevate the organization back to its deserved glory. They brought on Richard Chwatt as CEO in 2010 to revitalize the iconic brand. Through his efforts, the turnaround was energized and the vision began to take shape, ultimately paving the way for the brand we know today as Miami Grill.

Loyalty still abounds for the South Florida favorite today and we're excited to say it's once again in high-growth mode. Our Flexible Formats
Miami Grill features three different business models, offering franchisees the flexibility to choose an opportunity that best fits their investment goals.
MIAMI GRILL TRADITIONAL MODEL
Our traditional model features a free standing building in a fast-casual dining environment with space for 45-55 guests. It also features a drive-thru, outdoor dining, as well as third-party delivery and EZ catering.
MIAMI GRILL EXPRESS MODEL
Our express model features a guest experience built for modern times and designed for optimal flow. With a guest experience focused exclusively on drive-thru, pickup, and delivery (no dine-in experience), startup and management are simplified making it a cost-effective and streamlined process. And thanks to modular prefab construction, build outs can be completed up to four months faster than traditional new construction.
MIAMI GRILL & BAR
Our Miami Grill & Bar Model is a similar concept to our Traditional Model, but with full service restaurant that includes an expanded menu, complete bar, late night appetizers, and a vibrant look designed to tastefully reflect the influence of South Beach. It also features a drive-thru for expedited service.
BEST IN CLASS TECHNOLOGY
Miami Grill's restaurant technology streamlines operations with open, cloud-based P.O.S. systems that feature fill integration and easy-to-use platforms. Self-ordering kiosks and tablets elevate the guest experience and facilitate faster checkout, while inventory and other back-end systems streamline operations. We're currently testing voice recognition technology for drive-thru to further optimize labor dollars.

- SBA Guarantee Loan Program
Miami Grill® is an approved franchise on the SBA National Registry. Franchise Registry Approved Brands means that the franchisor’s agreement governing the relationship and any related documents must be reviewed. The SBA requires this review to insure the applicant and franchise are eligible for SBA financing. This does not guarantee that a loan will be approved it is only a part of the requirements necessary to apply. Others include:

Yes, you may own more than one unit. You may secure additional units by either being a multi-unit operator or an area developer.
Yes. An area developer pays a predetermined territory fee to secure protected development rights to a specific geographic area. The area developer and Miami Grill will agree upon the number of units to be developed within the territory and a timetable for opening them.
Expect to employ between 20 and 25 full and part-time staff members.
Your Miami Grill team will assist you in creating the best local-market opening plan for your restaurant and will work toward "pre-seeding" your market ahead of opening. We believe in community involvement and are committed to giving back to each community we serve. Miami Grill will help you make lasting impressions with civic groups, schools and businesses to set you on the path to success. Support for your location will be provided on an ongoing basis.
Miami Grill® ’s training and support is an immersion program designed to allow an individual that has no restaurant experience to learn the business. We seek individuals with multi-unit experience. If you have restaurant experience the ramp up time will be quicker. That experience can be a true asset. However, we have franchisees in our system that are doing well with no prior experience. It’s all about passion for the brand and a drive to succeed.
We have territories available throughout the United States and worldwide! Many great regions for multi-unit owners are available. We offer exclusive territories with a 3-5 restaurant deal. We are also seeking Area Developers to assist us in growing larger territories.
A franchise is all about relationships. This is a long-term commitment. We will start to explore if we are suited for each other. It’s a mutual due diligence process. Are we right for you and are you right for us? During this time, we get to find this out.
